Out Of The Blue Amenities

RESERVATIONS AND BOOKINGS

How can I make a reservation?
You can make a firm reservation by supplying your credit card number along with your booking details, over our secure connection. You can also make a structured inquiry for specific villas and dates, or a quick general inquiry if you simply need information. In all cases, the easiest and quickest way is the following sequence: Choose Rates & Availability from the main menu at the right of this page; from the next options menu, select "Check room availability", and click on a green (vacant) villa/date cell to begin entering your booking. You can also contact us directly by phone, fax, text message or email using the contact information at the bottom of every page.

Are there any taxes or service charges added to your rooms rates or other charges?
12% VAT (Philippine Value Added Tax) is added to your accommodation charges. There is no additional service charge fee, but a tip is always welcome if you feel it is well deserved.

What is the maximum number of people I can book in your villa?
Usually the maximum is 2 adults per bedroom, plus most rooms can accommodate an extra bed or cot for children or infants. But we understand that different groups have different needs and we will work with you to find the best combination of accommodation to meet your priorities. The more information you can give us regarding the preferred sleeping arrangements for the adults, children and infants in your party, the better we can advise you. For small groups, or separate singles, the multi-bedroom villas offer very cost-effective accommodation while retaining a high level of privacy.

How do I know when my booking has been confirmed?
We will send you a confirmation email stating all the details and quoting your booking number.

RESORT LOCATION AND LOCAL FACILITIES

Is Out of the Blue close to the beach?
We are just 30 meters back from Small Lalaguna Beach.

Do you have many stairs at Out of the Blue?
Our highest villas, which have spectacular views, are the equivalent of a 6 to 7 storey climb, whereas the Spa Villas are barely above sea level. Please note that the restaurant is about halfway up, and we have both an upper level and a lower level pool, so stairs are not a major issue when moving around within the resort.

How far away is Sabang?
We are about 800 meters from Sabang, which is the next beach along.

Is there good night life in Puerto Galera?
There are lots of bars, sports bars, restaurants, and discos in and around Sabang Beach, which is noted for its colorful night life..

Do you have shops nearby?
Along the beach and in Sabang there are many small stores, including a general store, fast food places, and a fresh food market. There is a small convenience store within the resort.

How far away is White Beach?
White Beach is about 40 minutes away by banca (outrigger), which costs about $40 for a return trip; the boatman will wait for you.

Do you accept credit cards or other non-cash payments?
We accept Visa and Mastercard, Western Union and direct bank transfer. There is a 3.95% bank surcharge imposed on credit card payments.

Do you accept Paypal?
No, not at this time.

What currencies do you accept?
We prefer US or Peso, but we will accept or exchange cash in most other major currencies at the prevailing "street" exchange rate - which is better than airports or major hotels!

Can I easily exchange currency nearby?
There are several money exchanges in nearby Sabang.

Do you have ATMs in Puerto Galera?
Yes, there are two, but they are not always on-line and only P10,000 can be dispensed at a time, and a service fee is imposed depending upon the card you use. Best not to rely solely on the local ATMs.

TRANSPORTATION AND MEETING UP

How do I get from Manila to Puerto Galera and how much does it cost?
There are several options, details and costs of which can be found on the Getting Here page.

How do I go by a public boat (banca) from Batangas to Out of the Blue?
You take a banca from the Batangas Pier terminal to Sabang Beach. Ask any porter or official and they will show you where to book your ticket and direct you to the air conditioned waiting area. The first banca departs at about 7am and the last at about 4pm. The morning is usually the best time to catch a banca as they run more frequently, approximately every hour or so.

If I take a public boat from Batangas, how do I get to Out of the Blue from Sabang Beach?
Call or text us (contact numbers below) after you book your banca to Sabang and we will meet you at Sabang Pier with a small board showing your name. Let us know how many bags you have. Alternatively you can use one of the freelance porters, who would expect a tip of about P100 to carry two bags for you.

Can I drive my car to Batangas and take a private boat (banca)?
You can drive to Berberabe beach, just past Batangas, where we can have a private banca waiting for you. Ask us for directions if you need them.

Can I travel by boat after dark?
Not by public banca. Private banca is permitted, depending upon the weather conditions.

SPECIAL PACKAGES - WITH OR WITHOUT SCUBA DIVING

Can you provide me with a combined scuba and accommodation package?
Certainly, just tell us what you would like and we would be delighted to put together a diving package for you. Apart from diving, we host a lot of honeymooners, and even the occasional wedding party, presided over by the local Mayor. We also cater to gourmet food/wine weekends, corporate retreats, and tour groups.

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

If we are able to re-book all of the cancelled days, then we will allow a percentage of the deposit to be used on a rescheduled booking, provided the new booking is within 90 days of the original arrival date.
